Overstay Rules and Penalties

It is worth taking seriously that as of 11 February 2026, ICP unified all UAE visa overstay fines at a flat AED 50 per day, applying to tourist, visit, and residence visas alike. There is no grace period for tourist and visit visa holders, and fines will be calculated from the moment when your visa expires. Many old articles online still reference a 10-day grace period for tourist visas. That’s outdated. Since February 2026, that buffer no longer applies for tourist and visit visa holders specifically.
